The beach is around 30 -45 minutes by tricycle and around 20-30 minutes by “habal-habal” from Centro or Town Proper. You may also go straight to the beach from Guijalo Port around 1 hour travel time( by tricycle starts at Php150 for special trip). pano yung dun sa la playa?
Hi Mike, yes La Playa is really a camping ground and it’s near the beach, there are also other accommodation in Barangay Paniman – the jump-off point for island hopping where you can camp. I’m not sure though if you are allowed to camp on the other islands.
Hi Claire,
I like ask if you know if I can go on a boat fishing trip out to deaper sea water from Paniman beach if so would you know the cost per person and how long the fishing trip would be. Also would you know the cost for a family of about 10 cost to stay at the beach for and over night stay. (arrive in morning leave next day in late afternoon.
Many thanks
Hi Joe, I guess it’s up to you and the boatman to negotiate how much would it be to rent a boat for the day- whether you use it for island-hopping or fishing. About the accommodation for 10pax, just check out the rates of the hotels and the capacity of each room and estimate from there how much you will spend for an overnight stay.
Hi Claire just want to ask as I know this been ask so many times na, but pls tell me what route of bus should we take when we arrive in naga to go to guijalo port thanks for your help
There is a terminal of vans in front of SM Naga going to to Sabang POrt. From Sabang you may take the passenger boat to Guijalo Port. From there you may rent a tricycle to your chosen accommodation.
thank you very much sa info..
hi, how much is d fare from the town to the island? what other recreations could the island offer? what resorts are near the beach? thanks…
Do you mean from the town proper of Caramoan to Paniman Beach? Paniman Beach is a jump off point for island hopping. It’s about 30 minutes from the town proper. The boat ride to the different islands will depend on what package you like. From Paniman Beach, Malarad, Hunungan, Gota etc are about half an hour boat ride while Manlawi and Sabitang Laya would take more than an hour. Gota Beach and Hunungan Beach Resorts are some of the top end resorts near the beach. If you’re in Caramoan, the must do activity for me is island-hopping. You can also try rock climbing, snorkeling, camping. CWC is just a boat ride away as well as Mt. Isarog for hiking.
hi! thanks for this info, very helpful. i’d just like to ask if breeze and waves is by the beach?
Hi Malen, yes it is located along Paniman Beach.
how do i get here from legaspi city?
Just ride any bus en route to Naga. There is a van terminal en route to Sabang port in front of SM Naga, from Sabang port you may either hire a private banca or ride the hourly banca en route to Quijalo port. Just make sure to be at Sabang before 12pm. I’m not sure about the schedule of the last trip for the boat. You can always hire a private boat though if you miss it (around 2000-3000 pesos depending on the season).
claire we’re having a difficulty choosing an accomodation. We settled that we stay in paniman beach bcuz its not expensive and its right to the beach but we’re still having difficulty choosing where. What do you think about la playa picnic and ground?
thanks so much….tc
Hmmm, I heard good and bad reviews about La Playa so it’s really hard to tell unless you try it for yourself. But in my case, I really don’t worry about accommodation especially for places like Caramoan, Coron, or El Nido where I would be spending most of my day outside the hotel doing island-hopping and other stuff. As long as I have a cheap and clean place to sleep, everything else is a bonus.
hi claire!
thanks for putting this up. I read off somewhere that a small boat for island hopping is around 2k and for 6 people. If there are just 2 of us would the rate be cheaper? And is it likely to find other people we can share the boat with?
thanks!
Hello Mika
It is usually the standard rate so they will charge you the same rate regardless of the number of passengers since they would be using the same amount of petrol. But you might get some discounts if you try haggling especially on low season. The best way to do it is to share with other people – don’t be shy to approach other tourist or ask around. You may also talk to some boatmen and let them know that you are looking for other people to share the boat rental. Hope you had a great trip and don’t forget to share your experience to us
Cheers!
Hi Claire,
Can i drive car all the way to paniman?
I think you can but I’m not sure if it’s allowed. So far I’ve seen tricycles and motorbikes only when I was there. The dirt road is a bit narrow but a sedan will be ok.
Hi Claire,
What do you think about staying at Island View Cottage cleanliness wise and safety? Thanks!
Just like any cheap and backpackers’ lodges, I don’t expect much about the safety of the place so I always carry my valuables with me. I have friends who had lost some of their belongings in expensive hotels as well so we really don’t know. The place is clean enough for me the last time I visited the place
thanks for the advice. looking forward to visiting the place. Is the area safe though?
Safe naman po sya but like in all places in the world there are unavoidable incidents that may happen, ingat na lang lagi
oh cool!! will take note of that. anything worth visiting at Paniman Beach? or should I go straight to the other islands? How far is it from Hunungan cove? Thanks for all your help!
I guess the beach itself
, not as beautiful as the beaches of the islands you will visit during island-hopping but not bad either. Hunungan is about 30 minutes or less I think from Paniman Beach
Hi Mai, i been in Paniman way back 2009, when my boss invited me to visit their place, she’s the one who owned the Breeze and Waves Resort…
I highly recommend their resort, aside from affordable ang accommodation, the people there was very friendly and its a safe place even you left your belongings.
The food was great, especially the kinunot.
Just incased your still looking for a place this summer, try to visit Paniman, its a beautiful place… Look for Ms. Myrna Rodriguez aka Manay Be.
Hope you try, you wont regret it. PROMISE!!
Hi Anna ~ kindle pm me regarding the details in Paniman (Breeze and Waves Resort).
Dun ba ung dock for Island Hopping so mas advisable?
Hi Claire! Very helpful post.
Thanks for posting this. I’ve been searching for accommodations near the jump-off point to the islands.
Nice, so tuloy na talaga ang Caramoan trip nyo. Have a safe trip Izah!
hi sa sunday na kmi punta wala pa kmi reservation..plan nmin mag camp n lang sana…pwede ba mag camp lang sa mga islands? kasi may nakita akong blog nag camp sila sa Matukad pero last year pa un..
so far ang alam ko pwede doon mag-camp basta walang shooting ang Survivor, pwede din kayo sa Paniman Beach mag-camp o kaya tanungin nyo yung bankero kung aling island pwede tapos pasundo na lang kayo the next day pag mag-island hopping na ulit.
ok rin ang mag camping sa beach pero no-no para sa akin ang magpa-iwan sa beach then magpasundo na lang the next day. what if you have some emergencies. we used to camp on sabitayang laya beach pero naka stand by lang palagi ang boat. it’s hard to take chances. ingat lang palagi. remember, caramoan trip is an adventure but you have to take all the necessary precautions to enjoy your trip and have some fun.
I agree with you Dasier, it’s always better to have a boatman on standby, if they can afford to rent one overnight or for days then better not to take chances. My friends went island-hopping in Caramoan for 3 days and they camped on different islands. You just have to bring everything you need including first aid kit if you plan to do so.
Dun kami sa Kapitan’s lodge nag stay nung nag caramoan kami… hahah ala nga siyang name. tawag lang din namin dun is kila Kap
hahaha, whenever I’m asked saan kamin nag stay, i couldn’t give a definite name kung saan. I didn’t even know the area was called Paniman.
This will be very helpful sa mga gusto pumunta ng caramoan
Has any of you experienced being carried on the shoulders of the porters to get to the shore from the big boat after the trip to caramoan?
kakaibang exprience yun!
I did
hi claire! ano pa po ang ibang jump-off points pwera sa Paningan? and pwede ba mag-rent ng camping materials? Like tent? and what elsa do we need ba during camping? sorry po 1st time
If you’re going to camp then the basic things you need would be a tent and cooking gear. But if you’re eating out then no need for it.
hi claire!
we’re planning to visit caramoan this month..do you think it’s better to get a packaged tour or should we just get a room and rent a boat when we get there?
thanks much..
kung peak season ba as in holy week, walang bangka available?
Hi Claire, punta kami ng family ko we are four with my sister, mom and niece sa caramoan first namin. Which is cheaper? Ano ma suggest mo na maganda na place for our accomdation. My nag offer kasi sa akin 3,500 at 2,300 per head for 3d/2n accom inclusive na food accom at islang hopping at transfer fm guijalo port to accom. madali lang ba mag transfer from Naga City to caramoan. Ang dami kung tanung pasensiya na po first time kasi namin at wala akong source na pwed matanungan. TY very much, i hope you can reply to my querries.
Kung gusto mo makatipid, DIY talaga dapat, madaming murang accommodation, sa Villa Juliana around P800 per night babayaran mo good for 4 na yan, tapos ang island hopping naman around 2500 doon sa malalapit na islands. P120 lang ang bayad sa tricycle from Guijalo port to the town proper, so compute mo na lang kung saan ka mas makakatipid, advantage nga lang nung package tour wala ka na pproblemahin.
Thanks for the info Claire. Last question? saan mas maganda mag stay sa town proper or sa Paniman beach. Di ba mahirap transportation from and to Quijalo/Paniman.?
We are from Legazpi City. Kung dadalhin namin yung car, sasakay pa ba kami ng ferry? if ever na sasakay kami, saan namin pwede e park? how about the reservation in room? pwede na ba mag pa reserve? salamat!
You can drive all the way to Sabang Port if you have your own car but I’m not sure where you can park there. (Perhaps you can pay a small amount to some locals and park near their area. From Sabang you may ride the passenger boat to Guijalo Port and the accommodation is just one tricycle ride away. It’s up to you if you want to reserve in advance. I don’t normally reserve a room ahead because I want to see it first before booking.
Hi Claire!
It’s not peak season anymore but I can’t assure you anything about the weather. I guess you just have to check the weather forecast a week before your planned trip.
Hi Neil, if you stay in Villa Juliana (room rate is around 800-1000 good for 4 pax), boat hopping for one day is around (2500-3000). Food depends on where you eat but the food there is relatively cheap especially if you eat in a carinderia. For CWC you may check out its website for rates.
HI Czarina, sorry I don’t have contact numbers of boatman. It’s easy to find one if you go straight to the jump-off point like Paniman Beach. They will approach you and offer their services. Even tricycle drivers will suggest boatmen for you. Just look around and compare prices first. Although there’s a standard rate for boat rental, some do offer discounts.
Hi! I want to ask something. I’m a bit confused. Caramoan is a peninsula, and not an island right? Because on the details stated on every tour package of each travel agency / hotels the pick-up point is at Guijalo Port pickup. The hotel staff will pick you there and bring you to the accommodation (specifically West Peninsula Villas). I really dont have any idea, so we have to ride a boat from the port going to West Pen Villa? thank you
To get to Caramoan you need to ride a boat from Sabang Port to Guijalo Port which is in Caramoan. From here you may ride a tricycle to the town center where most accommodation are located.
Hi Claire,
we are planning to visit Caramoan this April 6, how far is Guijalo port from La playa, puerto merced camp & picnic grounds?
About 30 minutes and you need to walk a bit to get to the campground.
Thank you very much……..
Villa Julliana is about 15- minute tricycle ride to Paniman Beach which is one of the jump-off points for island-hopping. Expect to pay around 2000-3000 for the island-hopping.
maraming salamat!
I’m not susre, nasira ba?
hi claire, if u will choose calaguas or caramoan? thanks
I will make sure to visit them both
Hi miss claire ask ko lng how much po tricycle ride from centro to paniman beach? and for accomodation naman po kung 800/night sa villa julian ang total po b nun ay 1600 for 3days/2 nights? salamat
I am not sure about the current rate, I think we paid 120 pesos for the tricycle and there were 4 of us. For Villa Julianna’s rate, it’s best to contact the owner and confirm about late check-out fees. If you reserve in advance, they might allow late check-out for free on your 3rd day. Just bargain.
mam, kapag arrive po kami ng naga airport ng 6 or 7 pm, may masasakyan pa po ba puntang sabang or paniman? san po kami pwede mag stay?
tnx for replying claire may I ask aside from island hoping snorkeling what else can we do in caramoan to maximize our stay there? because we’re planning to do the island hoping on the 2nd day of our trip, may I know some must to see places there? like in town proper if any? tnx alot such a big help
Hi Ms. Claire!
Do you know how much it costs for the bus ride to Sabang and the boat ride to Caramoan?
I need a little help.
I’m not sure about the current rates but the van ride from Naga to Sabang I think is around 90-100 and the boat fare to Caramoan is around P120 – 150.
hi claire,
just love it.. nice snapshots.. i am also promoting the stunning places of camSur (our pride)and it’s good see your blog.. keep up! visit my blog too LOL.
Hello. Gusto kopo sana maginquire about rates. Meron po ba kaung email address for all of the above mentioned accomodation? More than 10 pax po kasi so I would like to compare which is most affordable. Thank you po and God bless.
I think I already listed the rates here, just call the contact number of the lodge to confirm or get the updated rates.
Hello, First time po namin sa na pupunta sa Caramoan, itatanong ko lang po kung magkano ang package tour for 3 adults (3 nights, 4 days) including island hopping at saan po ba ang magandang hotel location na nasa tabi ng beach. Please suggest po yung name ng hotel.
Thanks,
Frannie
Hi Francisco, i don’t really arrange package tour. You may contact the numbers I posted on my blog and and ask for their rates. Kindly read my other entry about Caramoan Accommodation at the town proper to give you more options.
Thanks for those info! May I know how many hours the traveling period from naga to caramoan? We’ll go there on Sept.8-10, 2012, and we’ll leave naga at 1:35pm. I’d like to know what time should we be leaving caramoan? thanks
Give it around 2 hours, it’s usually less.
Just call them and ask as well for the updated rates. About 15-20 minutes lang Paniman Beach galing sa Centro/proper.
wait q po rep nyo badly needed..this is for project….nbsa qpo ung paniman beach nsa labas lng ng breeze and waves resort me entrance fee pba s beach or any fee like cooking facility and cottage we are 8 students couples hnhnp po nmn 4 rooms for 2.
Yes beachfront sya, kung gusto nyo magluto try nyo mag camp sa La Playa.
Hi,
I would like to ask how we could get to Paniman Beach? We are from Sorsogon City. Can we get to Caramoan through motorcycle? Thanks much
I haven’t tried going to Caramoan by land by there used to be a bus that goes directly to the town proper from Naga. The one I’m familiar with is going to Sabang Port and from there you may find a safe parking area for your motorcycle and ride the boat to Caramoan.
Hi! Medyo tight yung schedule nung flight namin so concern ko yung boat going in and out of Sabang port. 2pm ba last trip from Sabang port and then 2pm din last trip from Guijalo port? TIA!
Hi Elle, sometimes the boat leaves at 12pm if it’s full already (2pm is already a stretch). You can always hire a boat if you happen to miss the passenger boat. I think we paid 2500 2 years ago for 4 pax.
hello
we are planning to go there this N0v 30 to do some research we have tight budget
can you suggest a place where we can stay in for a very cheap yet comfortable
and also do you know someone in caramoan who has a good connection in the barangay there or in the Municipal :0
(( please help me
)
Hi Zah, I have a list of accommodation you can choose from aside from the ones at Paniman Beach so just check them out and see which one suits your budget. If the purpose of your visit is to do a research about the place, i think it wouldn’t hurt if you drop by at the Municipal Hall to ask for some assistance.
is there any inn near the Municipal hall and Paniman ?
ammm do you know any person who can guide us around caramoan?
its our First time to go there
hi claire, i would just like to ask kung magkano ang renta sa boat for island hopping. at kung may entrance fee pa ba sa mga island. thanks
Expect to pay around P2000-3000 and there’s no entrance fees.
Hi, anong oras po ba yung last trip from sabang port to caramoan?ty
Depende kasi minsan umaalis na kapag puno na yung bangka. To be safe, it’s better to be at Sabang before 12pm otherwise you could always rent a private boat with your friends if you happen to miss the passenger boat.
hi
ask ko lng sana kung mga magkano ang need na budget for 3D/2N sa caramoan for 2? i’m considering caramoan as our destination this March. thank you.
Allot 3000 for one day island-hopping and 1000 pesos for 1 day accommodation.
good day po ano po kaya ang safe and magandang island na pwedeng mag camp jan sa caramoan na pwed po kaming iwanan for just 2 days,la po xe kaming any idea from that place taga rizal po xe kami and we are planning to go this coming february 15 peak season po b yun sa camoroan…thnx in advance
It’s best to ask your boatman which islands are available at the time of your visit. Marami naman pwede for overnight.
Thank you!
Hi Claire, thanks so much for your blogs like http://www.lakwatseradeprimera.com/caramoan-accommodation/ and this. Will go this May 16 to 18, booked in Breeze and Waves tapos DIY tour just to have fun. I will note your site as my reference for future lakwatsas.
Thanks again!
thanks claire, your blog and comments helped me clear out some things. I’d like to ask your help too. i just want to clear the travel route to paniman. We are interested in checking in at Breeze & Waves- so to go there from Naga City take a van to Sabang Port, then a boat to Paniman? Is it also a public ride or you have to rent a private boat to get there. Or you have to go down at Guijalo Port then take the tricyle to go to Paniman.
we are checking breeze and waves versus Gota Village. Which one do you think is fun? ambiance , food and all?
From Sabang Port to Guijalo Port and then rent a tricycle to Paniman Beach. Gota has its own beach, cozy and the food is good but it is also expensive. Breeze and Waves is along the strip of other accommodation.
Pls reply. Ty
Try mo tawagan yung CMC Villa at iba pang lodges. Ito yung link.
hi good day, aside from breeze and waves, what are the other accomodations by the beach?.. me and my cousin is planning to have a backpacking to Caramoan islands, like just an overnight stay. Thanks
Just check out the Paniman Beach post. It’s written there. There might also be new ones now along the beach. If you haven’t booked your accommodation yet, just check them out first before choosing your accommodation.
hi, can you just po where can we avail ng island hopping? and magkanu ang rate?
