Davao is not only blessed with lush nature parks, exotic wildlife and beautiful beaches. It is one of the top adventure destinations in the Philippines offering many different kinds of exciting pursuits for the thrill seekers. It is famous for its white-water rafting, diving, trekking and zip lining. It hosts the longest zip line in Asia and there are three more zip line facilities around the region.
On our second day in Davao, I finally got to experience the Philippines’ very own zip line at Zip City Hilltop in Barangay Langub. I had previously tried zip-lining a year ago at Menara Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where it was known as a “flying fox”. This time however, I had a scenic view of Davao Gulf and Mt. Apo instead of towering skyscrapers around the city. Still fresh from our 3 hour river tubing adventure in the morning, we headed straight to Barangay Langub to zip line before visiting GAP Farm Resort.
The Zip City zip line prides itself as being the most scenic, accessible and the friendliest to all ages. Compared to the Xcelerator zip line which is about 1 kilometer, the one at Zip City is only a third the distance and way slower. But I guess this is fitting for first timers and makes for a tamer zip lining adventure where you can enjoy the scenic vista instead of just screaming your lungs out! It isn’t for the faint-hearted though – you still traverse 320 meters of cable that is 120 feet above the ground and dismounting from the edge of the platform could still be daunting especially for those who have a fear of heights.
After paying the zip line fee at the reception area and donning safety harness and helmet, we all climbed up the spiral metal staircase to the unloading platform and excitedly waited for our turn. We all chose to zip solo instead of the tandem ride. While standing at the edge, final safety check was done and then we launched into a heavenly 30 second glide through the picturesque landscape. The feeling is a mixture of excitement, anxiety and delightful euphoria.

It depends on which zip line in Davao yo are referring to. Davao’s Xcelerator is the longest zip line in Asia though.
nag xcelerator din ba kayo? why not? yun ang gusto kong i-try when i go to davao. nasubukan ko na yung sa bukidnon and sobrang astig. gusto kong icompare dyan sa davao.
I tried both, zip city and xcelerator, mas ok yung xcelerator kasi pwede iba-iba positions, superman, upside down, and the normal one
Bukidnon na ba ang longest or fastest zip line now?
Unforgettable experience when I visit Davao! Sarap ulit-ulitin… Nakakakaba kasi first time pero once you’re there… sarap ng feeling ng lumilipad! Sayang lang wala ng time time kaya d n nmin na-try ung sa Xcelerator!
